It's hard to be 6'4" in Japan. Carl has to be really careful when he goes through doors!

"Come out, come out, wherever you are!" It takes dedication to find the perfect koi, let alone catch them! This is taken at Isa Mariyu's Farm.

Isa Mariyu's tosai greenhouse. He has recently been sucessful at breeding Ki Utsuri - Carl came back with 6 fabulous ones!

Carl and Isa Mariyu close the deal over tea. The hospitality of Japan is just wonderful. If you buy from several breeders each day, you won't need dinner!

Carl looking at fish at Yugenji Koi Farm. While they are known for their Shiro Utsuri, Carl found an amazing Doitsu Kohaku.

Seitaro and Carl look at some of his famous Chagois. The average size of fish in this pond was 70 cm - and there were a LOT of them! The chagois came in every possible color - green, brown, rust, and champagne, and there were lots of other good koi here too!

Carl stops by his old friend Chogorou - from his sign, you might guess he is known for outstanding Platinum Ogons or Purachina. His tosai were stunning.

We took more photos and then it was time to pack up and start our long journey home. It was definitely a trip to remember, with beautiful scenery, wonderful hospitality, and, of course, many stunning koi.
