Carl went on his annual trip for the fall harvest. Here are a few snapshots and comments from him while he was there.

Started at Hosokai Koi Farm this year. Here they are getting ready to pull a pond, which has already been partially drained.

They start by setting up the seine net at one end of the pond.


They slowly work the net across the pond.

 

Propping up the sides of the net on stakes, they corral the koi and start catching them by hand and placing them in bags.

Then they bring the fish up to the truck in the bags.

Finally, the koi are placed in tanks for transporting them back to the greenhouse.

If you can take your eyes off this gorgeous koi, take a look at the cap the man is wearing. Where have I seen that logo before...?
