Though it was hard work, the prospects of a rewarding harvest kept them all in good spirits.

You can see how much progress they're made.

Before they start to take the fish out of the pond, Tsuyoshi prays for a good harvest.

They prop the seine net up on poles to keep the koi from escaping, and carefully catch each one by hand.

All three of them are soon busy catching koi.

Then they place them in plastic bags and carry them up to the waiting trucks.

One of the two tanks holding the fall harvest.

And what a harvest it was! They didn't loose a single fish over the course of the summer, and the koi grew spectacularly! Those little 9"-12" Tosai grew up to 20.5" in length in just 7 months!

Of course we bought many of these outstanding Kohaku back with us.
