Aquadyne Dynamax
Forced Air Bead Cleansing System
is included on all the systems we carry
  • Boosts total biological filtration capacity approximately 30%. The Dynamax forced air cleansing allows thorough washing of bead media through a significant increase in turbulence of media prior to backwashing. The forced air washing, completely breaks up the entire media bed and frees all fine materials that may otherwise remain suspended in the media for further biodegrading.
  • Reduces the water necessary to backwash by as much as 80%. During a normal non air-assisted backwash cycle, the Model 4.4 would typically require between 200 and 300 gallons of water to effectively clean the filter of waste. With the Dynamax system you can backwash the same filter with as little as 60 gallons of water. This is most desirable for those wishing to install a larger filter on a pond of a lesser volume than the filter is rated for, because very little make-up water has to be added to the pond after a backwash cycle and a much larger fish load can be maintained in a smaller environment, while greatly extending the time between backwashing.

Clarifying Flow Rates:

Stated average filtration flow rates are average. You can increase or decrease the flow rates as you like. However the maximum filter flow rating is intended to reflect maximum solids removal while maintaining reasonable biological contact with the bacteria living on the filter media to effectively remove ammonia and nitrite from the water system within the parameters of the specified fish loads. Minimum backwash flow rates indicated, reflects the flow rate that most effectively separate solid waste products from the bead media and flush the waste products from the filter with a minimum of water loss. The minimum backwash flow rate for your particular filter many well be lower, depending on A: Whether of not your system has a Dynamax option installed, B. The amount of fish waste or plant waste in your system produced by various feeding habits. C. The overall frequency in which you backwash your particular system. All living aquatic environments have many variations on the particular biological chemistry with regards to active waste products in the pond. Some may have only fish waste, while others may have fish waste, plant waste, and even simentation waste from soil products washing into the pond. Aquadyne is specifically designed to operate in all types of pond environments handling most waste with little difficulty.

Chart, Data Clarification:

The Maximum Pond Size shown indicates the maximum pond size for greatest biological efficiency of a given system. Pond size can also be significantly smaller than the maximum rating. By using a larger system on a smaller pond, you will only further increase the biological cleanliness of the pond environment. Likewise, the pond could also be slightly larger than the rating on a system provided that there was not a significant fish load. (See Fish Capacity Data)The Minimum Flow Rates indicated in the chart indicate the minimum flow rates required to backwash or advanced backwash the system. Flow rates during the normal filter cycle can be significantly slower than indicated in the chart. However, during the backwash cycle, you must have the ability to increase the flow to the minimum rating for a proper backwash. Often the use of a two speed pump will allow you to run a very slow flow rate with a lower power consumption while filtering, and only use the less economical high speed for backwashing. The maximum flow rates listed are a cross section of two factors. Mechanical control head port size for efficient flow without significant restriction, and contaminated water contact exposure to the billions of beneficial bacteria residing within the filter. Without a doubt, slower flow during the filter cycle is better, but, a faster flow rate also places the recirculating water in contact with the media more frequently, netting near identical nitrification results. The Maximum Pressure Rating all Aquadyne systems is a whopping 50 PSI ! The Central Diffuser Column on Aquadyne filters is so efficient and non-restrictive that you would have to install a 5 HP pump and have the filter half clogged to put 50 PSI on the tank. This simply would not occur in any practical application so they consider it just a perk.

Lifetime Warranty

Yes, you have read correctly. Aquadyne offers a lifetime repair warranty on all models of the Aquadyne Bead Filtration Systems. The warranty covers the main tank, control head, and central diffuser column. If the main tank, control head, or central diffuser column ever breaks, due to normal use wear, they will repair or replace the broken piece or pieces at their discretion. Rubber O-rings and seals are warranted for a period of 2 years. This warranty does not include damage from freezing, misuse, over-pressurization, or subjecting threaded connections to load bearing stress. As a courtesy, any damage determined to be the result of such action that is not warrantable will be replaced at direct factory cost.
